Job Title: Line Leader
Location: Leyland
Hours: 6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm (on rotation each week)
Salary: £12.14 per hour (£23,673 per annum) subject to review from April 2025
The Line Leader oversees the manufacturing process on the production line, taking charge of a team to meet production targets and maintain smooth operations. In collaboration with the Supervisor, the Line Leader works to enhance the efficiency of production processes, ensuring that products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Duties / Responsibilities of the role:
• Set up and operate production lines with assistance from the Technicians department, as needed.
• Assign tasks to workers on the production line.
• Lead and supervise a team of production staff, including both permanent and temporary employees, to achieve production targets.
• Manage and coach production workers to efficiently complete tasks in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure full adherence to Company policies and industry regulations, including Quality, Health and Safety at Work, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Allocate tasks effectively, making optimal use of team members, even during downtime periods.
• Train and mentor new production line staff on operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Maintain equipment and machinery to support seamless production line operations.
• Monitor production line performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure production targets are achieved and orders are completed on time.
• Perform quality checks and maintain accurate records of line efficiency through necessary documentation.
• Quickly identify and address production line issues to meet deadlines without compromising quality, with support from the Supervisor and Engineers.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
