Salary: £43,900 + £4,800 shift allowance
Shifts: Rotating earlies & lates (6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm)
Overview
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical and Mechanical experience), you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment.
You will be responsible for conducting both mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, including working with PLCs, pumps, valves, and pipework on Capital Machinery within Biotech and Pharma environments.
This role will involve regular working both at heights and in confined spaces. While you do not need formal training/qualifications in either of these disciplines, experience of both will be required.
Responsibilities
1. Conducting preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to minimise downtime and ensure smooth operations
2. Troubleshooting and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults in a timely manner
3. Working with PLCs to diagnose and resolve control system issues
4. Regular planned and preventative maintenance on pumps, valves, pipework, gears, PLCs, Control Systems, and various moving parts of machinery
5. Collaborating with the production team to address maintenance-related challenges and optimise equipment performance
6. Recommending and implementing improvements to enhance the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing equipment
7. Complying with health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, with expertise in both mechanical and electrical maintenance
2. Proficiency in working with PLCs and control systems
3. GMP experience from a Pharma or Biotech background
4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
5. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
6. Commitment to adhering to health and safety guidelines
Day-to-day
1. Inspecting equipment to identify potential issues and performing preventive maintenance tasks
2. Responding to equipment breakdowns and performing troubleshooting to identify root causes
3. Working at heights and in confined spaces whilst repairing and maintaining machines
4. Collaborating with colleagues to address maintenance challenges and optimise equipment performance
5. Recording maintenance activities and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up to date
6. Following health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
