2. The Role
As a Systems Accountant, you will be integral to the company's financial success. You'll work directly with senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and play a crucial role in project accounting, system integration, and data analysis. You will provide key financial insights to drive projects forward and help the business grow. Your main responsibilities include:
1. Project Accounting: Managing the financial performance of ongoing projects, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting.
2. Systems Management & Integration: Enhancing and maintaining finance systems, especially Power BI. You'll use data visualisation and dashboards to provide accessible insights and improve operational efficiency.
3. Financial Reporting: Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, offering insights that align with the company's strategic goals.
4. Budgeting & Forecasting: Supporting the business planning process through detailed budgets and forecasts.
5. Business Partnering: Working closely with various departments to ensure financial goals are met and projects stay on track.
6. Process Improvement: Driving efficiency in financial systems by identifying and implementing improvements.

We're looking for:
1. Part-Qualified Accountant: Working towards a professional qualification like ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
2. Systems Expertise: Proficiency in Power BI is essential, with experience in data visualisation and reporting tools.
3. Project Accounting Experience: Strong experience in managing financial aspects of projects, especially in fast-moving environments.
4. Analytical Skills: The ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
6. Proactive Mindset: A proactive approach to improving systems and processes, always looking for ways to add value.
You may currently be working in a finance role with exposure to systems or have recently transitioned to a more systems-focused position. In either case, your passion for finance, combined with your ability to work with tools like Power BI, will set you up for success.

1. Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
