Wilsons Auctions are the largest independently owned auction house in the UK & Ireland. We currently have a requirement in our Newport Branch for 2 full time Auction Support Operatives. Main Purpose of the Job: Mainly working in the Disposal Hall, this role involves manual handling and you should have the ability to lift and move assets as required. You must have the ability to multi-task whilst thinking on your feet and should be comfortable with working under pressure and tight deadlines. In addition to Processing your own allocation of assets. You will ensure that sales are lotted correctly and on time for viewing on the website and for ensuring that deadlines are met. You will be responsible for the Processing of goods and ensure that they are in the best possible condition pre-sale. Essential Criteria: Well-organised with an eye for detail Good level of IT literacy Hands-on approach to work Be able to work within deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills Hard-working Flexible attitude to working hours Excellent team player Ability to lead and motivate the team All applicants will be subject to security clearance vetting Responsibilities: Moving and sorting all goods prior to sale. Addressing the needs of the customers as and when required and dealing with problems To monitor goods/stock entering and leaving the premises, checking invoices against items as required. Responsible for Good Housekeeping practises to ensure that allocated areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times including storage locations. Ensuring that only authorised personnel are admitted into the disposal's hall and storage locations. General maintenance of all equipment used in the direction of your duties. Assisting the management team when required, providing weekly updates Ensuring that maintenance is carried out when required and the YM/SM is informed of any issues. Conforming to the company procedures, policies, and dress code and ensuring all Disposal staff are compliant Working in other areas of the business when required. Ensuring Disposal Staff holiday is covered Ensuring all areas are tidy at the end of each day. Overseeing the processes in the Collections & Processing Areas Liaising with Company Health & Safety Personnel to ensure all Disposal Staff are compliant with PPE and ensuring staff training records are up to date. Maintain a good relationship with the customers and vendors, fulfil entrusted tasks to the best of your abilities, make sure the deadlines are being met, fulfil the requirement of regular updates to the Line Manager and maintaining open communication with the Line Manager, fulfil the expectation of devoting yourself wholeheartedly to your duties at all time during working hours.
