The post holder will support the implementation of patient safety across Navigo services by: Administratively supporting Navigo's patient safety incident investigation process including family-carer and staff liaison to support the Patient Safety Team as required. Ensuring that accurate data checking procedures are followed within the incident management system and communicate with all levels of staff following any queries/concerns with the incident management process, escalating any concerns to senior colleagues. Being responsible for extracting and manipulating information from the incident management system in order to support the Patient Safety Team in the delivery of basic reports. Under direction from the Patient Safety Team, maintaining governance systems and databases with a high degree of accuracy. This includes information regarding incidents, investigations, actions and Coronial processes. Due to a high volume of patient/staff identifiable information, the post holder will maintain confidentiality at all times. Demonstrating effective communication to staff, patients, families and carers. Ensuring timely uploading of incidents to the Learning from Patient Safety Events/National Reporting Learning System. Arranging and administrating regular meetings, including agenda setting, distribution of papers and taking minutes. Monitoring the central Patient Safety email account and responding appropriately using own initiative and escalating as necessary. Responding to all queries, correspondence and telephone calls in a timely and professional manner. Initiating action where possible and consulting senior colleagues as appropriate. Using their knowledge and expertise to support others within the team. Working independently within agreed processes and standard operating procedures and make decisions on the necessity of escalation to senior colleagues. Assisting in the preparation of data and information for monthly/quarterly/annual reports and projects. Contributing to the promotion of patient safety across the organisation and support at good practice events as required, e.g. the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Completing any other duties within the Patient Safety Team of the role appropriate to the grade as requested by senior colleagues.
