The Job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Audio Visual Installation Engineer. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Providing installation services for a wide range of integrated audio-visual solutions and video conferencing technologies in the corporate, further education, and public sectors. This role involves leading projects independently as well as collaborating with installation teams.
Installation of AV systems such as:
* Lecture theatre solutions (interactive technologies, collaborative systems, audio systems, projectors, and screens).
* Boardroom and meeting room systems (audio and video), video conferencing suites, and digital signage.
* Installation and commissioning of Microsoft Teams Room systems.
* Extron and Crestron control systems and appropriate cabling infrastructure.
* Liaising with third-party trades/subcontractors to ensure smooth project integration.
* Commissioning equipment to the highest standard on site, including programming audio DSPs, setting up digital video systems, and configuring video conferencing systems.
* Performing maintenance visits and providing ongoing support.
* Conducting site surveys and producing survey reports.
* Providing technical support during and after projects.
Key Skills & Qualities Required:
* On-site installation experience with a range of equipment in various environments, including projection display screens, interactive technologies, audio solutions, digital sound processors, switching video scalers, signal extenders, and digital signage.
* Experience working within the further education and corporate sectors.
* Excellent technical knowledge of digital sound processing and video distribution.
* Ability to understand and create schematics.
* Strong rack building skills.
* Understanding of the latest signal resolutions and distribution methods.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to liaise with clients at a senior level.
* Experience working with external consultants and project consultants.
* Up-to-date knowledge of the AV marketplace, including products and trends.
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
* Good understanding of IT and networks.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
* Familiarity with risk assessments and method statements.
* Ability to lead on-site teams of in-house and subcontracted engineers.
* Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
