Reporting to the XDP Directors, you will be part of an established team.
The role is a new position within the business with activities ranging from assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts to undertaking daily and weekly reporting across the business. Based in Sutton Coldfield, this is a full-time, office-based role.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of financial areas for the successful candidate.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for quality, making it suitable for an individual looking for their first role in the industry.
You will help to provide accounting support within the finance team to produce, deliver, and continuously improve the management accounts.
Deliverables:
1. Preparing the monthly management accounts.
2. Preparing weekly financial information to be shared across the senior team.
3. Maintaining the fixed asset register and disposals.
4. Preparation and posting of monthly journals.
5. Assisting with year-end reporting and audits.
6. Overseeing and preparing balance sheet reconciliations, including hire purchase and operating lease agreements.
7. Supporting the wider finance team during projects.
8. Ensuring continuous improvement of the role function.
9. Maintaining high standards of behaviour and professionalism within all aspects of the role.
Critical Competencies & Abilities Required for the Role:
1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
2. Good numerical ability with high levels of attention to detail.
3. Ability to work autonomously and manage a busy and varied workload.
4. Able to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
5. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
6. Strong working knowledge of Sage 200.
7. Experience in managing large volumes of data.
8. Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
9. Highly motivated and able to quickly grasp new concepts and challenges.
Experience:
1. Essential AAT or CCAB qualified.
2. Logistics background preferable (or similar – not essential).
3. Critical problem-solving ability and attention to granular details.
4. Ability to analyse and interpret information quickly.
5. Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
6. Able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and remain highly organised.
7. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
8. Proactive and vigilant in thinking.
9. Ability to audit processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses for training.

1. Management of work output and collation, but no direct line manager responsibility.
2. Some coaching, knowledge transfer, mentoring, and support to colleagues.
