Job Overview
Do you want to lead the team in Gastroenterology and make a difference? This position is well suited to individuals looking to lead the way in the ward setting. You will ensure high quality care is given to our patient group while working with a dedicated team of staff who are devoted to improve the quality of care and enhance patients' experience.
You will be a clinical role model and have a willingness to continuously develop the team as well as your own professional growth. Training opportunities will be tailored to your personal needs to enable your development into this challenging role.
You should have recent experience of working at a Senior Nurse level and be able to demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills in caring for Gastroenterology patients.
Main Duties of the Job
You will have overall responsibility for the provision of excellent care with compassion for the patients, relatives, and visitors who are cared for within your ward or department.
To ensure the provision of excellent care, you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring that the nursing team and care support team within your ward or department are adequately resourced and organised.
* Ensuring the nursing team and care support team are adequately supported and developed to deliver excellent care.
* Leading and developing the nursing team by being a visible and strong role model, providing leadership and direction to the team.
* Ensuring the productive operation of the department through the monitoring and maintenance of standards that create a safe and organised environment.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Appropriate NMC Registration
* Post Registration Qualifications relevant to the role
* Diploma or Degree in Nursing
* Successful completion of/will to work towards a leadership and development programme.
* Level 4 ILM or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance and Safeguarding
* Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
* Experience of managing a clinical area
* Evidence of working at Band 7
* Experience of budgetary management
