The post holder will support the Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital in the planning, co-ordination and evaluation of education and training. They will work closely with the general critical care education team, ensuring education is standardised across all units. The role involves supporting nurses on the Greater Manchester Critical Care Network critical care programme.
Main duties of the job
1. Registered post graduate critical care course
2. Extensive experience in Cardiothoracic Critical Care
3. Recognised Practice Assessor or Mentorship Course
4. Post Graduate Certificate in Education, or willingness to undertake
5. Health related degree
6. Substantial experience of working at band 6 level managing a team within critical care
7. Evidence of CPD
8. Multi Professional Team working
9. Teaching and counselling skills
10. High level of personal and professional credibility
11. Ability to influence staff and promote and monitor change
12. Good written and oral communication skills
13. Participate and promote multiprofessional patient care
14. Capable of working under own initiative or as part of a multi professional team clarifying objectives and identifying priorities for action
15. Utilise best evidence and research to inform practice
16. Continually update and develop the appropriate skills necessary for the delivery of care
