Development Scientist I or II (R&D Analytical) Upperton Pharma Solutions is a Nottingham-based CDMO that specialises in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products, providing a complete service from early-stage feasibility to GMP clinical manufacture. Formulations cover a range of delivery routes, typically including oral (tablets & capsules), nasal and inhaled. The Development Scientist (R&D Analytical) will be directly involved in the development of new and existing drug products (with dosage forms including but not limited to, tablets, capsules, liquids, inhalers and nasal devices), focusing on analytical testing to support R&D activities. Key test methods utilised include UV-HPLC, dissolution, device testing by AINI/NGI and material sciences (XRPD, DSC, DVS, TGA). Main duties and responsibilities: Undertake practical and written project work as directed, using the companys processes safely to meet project requirements. Operate various analytical equipment involved in the testing of materials and products. Complete accurate documentation to support laboratory work, manufacturing and quality control including operating records, lab books, batch records and project reports. Prepare technical documentation such as standard operating procedures and risk assessments. Work within the Upperton Quality System. Skills and experience required: Degree in chemistry or allied subject. Prior experience in an analytical laboratory is preferred. Must have excellent communication, influencing and troubleshooting skills. Ability to effectively contribute within a team environment and work on own initiative. Meticulous attention to detail. Excellent planning and organisational skills. Ability to work accurately under pressure and to meet deadlines. Good time management skills.
