Why You’ll Love It Here Healthcar e: Individual & Family BUPA healthcare 10% matched pension Discounts : Up to 60% discount on Premier Inn stays and 25% discount on our Restaurant brand Check out all our benefits here: https://www.whitbreadcareers.com/about-us/benefits/ What you’ll be doing: Work with technical product managers and product architects to review requirements and identify areas of risks to the performance of the Digital platforms Review architecture and detailed designs to ensure risks are considered and are mitigated Enable and support the code review process to ensure the code delivered meets the standards on performance Enable and support profiling of any code performing poorly and the identification of optimizations Review customer support issues and customer feedback to identify any missed performance risks and areas to protect further Participate to the investigation, diagnosis and solution of customer support issues related to performance and resiliency Contribute to root cause analysis of performance problems, covering product and process, to support continuous improvement of our teams and organisation You will drive innovation, implement observability in a distributed production environment to monitor online platforms health for performance and resiliency Monitoring, identifying and correct the most-complex tech defects and issues to maintain fully functioning technology systems and platforms Explore and evaluate emerging technologies, market trends, and innovations, assessing their potential to add value to strategy formation, planning, and decision-making within Whitbread. What you’ll need: Highly experienced SRE Engineer with solid proven experience in IT who can influence teams in the best practise in SRE. A DevOps mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and able to influence others. Strong experience of implementing AWS production systems for high-value transactional websites including cost predictions, optimisations, resilience and performance. Experience in Observability & Reliability Engineering using APM tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics. Strong knowledge in performance tuning of Java Backend services and implementation of logging & tracing in large scale distributed systems. Experience in identification, isolation of production performance and reliability P1/P2 issues on large-scale distributed systems. Provide RCA for recurring incidents and work along with Tech Leads community for resolution. Working knowledge for Agile processes and tools required to promote this methodology. Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team Should have experience in java programming skills to write custom functions/codes Should have knowledge on performance tuning of Database and caching components for scalability and availability.
