Information / Governance Consultant – Leeds – Greenfield Team / Pan European Group REF 637
This brand new Information Management team, based in Leeds, is working for a large pan European group with big plans for their data. The team will drive a pioneering data model, based on expansive data availability and the fluidity of that data throughout the organisation. The information / governance role is an integral part of the plans for the team requiring an information governance professional. The role will see the successful person provide support to the Lead Information Manager to embed the Information Management (IM) Framework across all business activities, to work with the business on governance documentation and progress assurance work of all departments to establish effective adoption of the IM Key principles throughout the group. This is a greenfield project and one you could get your teeth into for the next few years, and as the team grows and delivers, so too will your role in the wider group.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to keeping all governance documents up to date and relevant to sustain the key Information Management principles across the group.
2. Support the Lead Information Manager to embed the IM framework across the group.
3. Coordinate the IM team’s efforts to provide assistance and support to departments to promote and embed the IM framework and Key Principles throughout the group.
4. Coordinate the work of and the support of the Information Governance Champions.
5. Contribute to the maintenance of Information related risks.
6. Investigate the identified data problems and follow through to ensure a resolution is identified and implemented.
7. Investigate any issues with the IM reporting mechanisms to ensure they remain robust and operating effectively.
8. Improve data quality measures and the controls to monitor data quality.
Required Experience
1. Proven track record in working with a governance framework and governance documents.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills.
3. Knowledge and understanding of the relevant information management and data protection legislation.
4. Ability to multi-task, deal with work within tight/conflicting deadlines and prioritize work appropriately.
5. Proven ability to engage successfully with cross-functional stakeholders outside of direct line management responsibilities.
6. Knowledge and understanding of the importance of confidentiality and Information management and security principles.
7. Experience of working within an information governance team.
8. Business and Personal Leadership skills and attitudes.
9. The ability to speak confidently on information and data management subjects with limited preparation, commanding respect and authority.
10. Strong analysis and design skills.
11. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
12. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, commercially oriented environment.
