We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Planning Enforcement Officer to join our team for a 12-week temporary assignment.
In this vital role, you will:
* Investigate Alleged Breaches: Conduct thorough investigations into alleged breaches of planning control, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and inspecting sites.
* Enforce Planning Regulations: Take appropriate enforcement action, including issuing enforcement notices, negotiating with developers, and preparing cases for legal proceedings.
* Provide Expert Advice: Offer guidance to the public, developers, and colleagues on planning regulations and enforcement procedures.
* Manage a Diverse Caseload: Handle a variety of enforcement cases, prioritizing effectively and meeting deadlines.
* Contribute to a Positive Planning Environment: Play a key role in ensuring compliance with planning regulations and protecting the character and integrity of our community.
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience working in a Local Authority Planning Enforcement department or in a professional planning role.
* Practical experience serving planning enforcement notices and understanding the legal implications.
* In-depth knowledge of the development management process, including the GPDO and Use Classes Order.
* Ability to interpret planning proposals and assess breaches of planning control against relevant policies and legislation.
* Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle a demanding workload.
* Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
What We Offer:
* Competitive Hourly Rate: £21.09 - £22.65 (Scale J, equivalent to £40,689 - £43,690 per annum).
