Summary
As part of the Supply Chain team you will be given a number of challenging initiatives to develop both yourself and the business. You will be working with a number of internal and external stakeholders to develop a Supply chain strategy for how our logistics network will operate in the future and support our project around the country.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Attend training provider courses full time or day release as requested; Leading to completion of a level 6 Apprenticeship standard
* Operate at an appropriate level carrying out designated tasks within the team assigned
* Participate in Company Initiatives, in particular to be engaged in Continuous Improvement activity targeted at all aspects of Alstom performance
* Developing a UK wide Logistics Strategy that supports our UK wide project delivery
* Supporting the role out of the Work Package process and developing the tools to do this
* Designing stores layout
* Reviewing our business processes and practices
* Operate at an appropriate level carrying out designated tasks within the team assigned

* Determine benefits of insourcing, offshoring or outsourcing
* Gather, analyse, interpret and use data from across the supply chain to propose and make effective decisions
* Source and plan optimal transport solutions
* Actively integrate and use data across enterprise lines
* Develop differentiated supply chain strategies aligned to relevant business unit or function to achieve long-term sustainable growth
* Use end customer insight to design and evaluate end-to-end supply chain networks
* Use current market and product information to influence and challenge supply chain network design
* Leverage, and capitalise on, supply chain assets to deliver financial targets
* Drive cost efficiencies and service level improvements through the distribution network
* Practise in a sustainable and ethical way all sourcing and buying decisions

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
* 5 Subjects including Maths, English & Science (grade 5 to 9)
A Level or equivalent in:
* 3 subjects including business or IT (grade CCB)
