Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is currently recruiting for an experienced, motivated, and dedicated individual for our new Head of Care post. Your role will be to manage the day-to day Care Team who are providing care & safety to our residents and provide proactive support to the Home Manager across all aspects of home management, providing a safe, caring, stimulating and homely environment for residents and visitors.
Key responsibilities
Be responsible for monitoring the standard of care delivered by the care team by observation and direct involvement, ensuring that all residents receive quality person centred care and that care plans are fully maintained.
Support the Home Manager in the implementation of all policies, procedures and business objectives
Instructing staff in safe systems of work, Fire Safety, Moving and Handling and Fire evacuation procedures, as well as ensuring new care staff are inducted into the Care Team with positive mentoring.
Act as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, acting upon requests and ensuring concerns or complaints are dealt with appropriately.
To maintain a high-quality service working in partnership with Heads of department to manage services. To ensure the service meets, and indeed exceeds, the requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
Responsible for all Care & Medication outcomes.
Excellent understanding of Medication Management/Administration
To have excellent I.T. and Communication skills.
Good Time Management
To attend fortnightly Management meetings.
To attend quarterly General Staff meetings and Relatives meetings along with the Home Manager.
To hold and encourage Care Staff to attend monthly Care Team meetings.

Qualifications
Proven supervisory experience in a care setting
Strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate staff
Expertise in developing and implementing care plans
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents and families
Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
Familiarity with IT systems relevant to care management
Experience in senior care and care home environments is a plus
Valid driver's license preferred for transportation needs
