Within our Capital Design and Delivery department, we are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join the Waste Infrastructure Delivery Team.
Are you a Junior/ Assistant Project Manager, or a Site Manager coming from civil/infrastructure background who would like to progress their career in Project Management? Perhaps you are a Project Engineer with a strong, technical background, looking for new and exciting challenge to step into?
Well, if you are, read on.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Based in either our Finham (Coventry), Raynesway (Derby) or Shelton (Shrewsbury) office and reporting directly to the Senior Programme Manager, as our Assistant Project Manager you’ll lead and manage a project team and the project through its lifecycle. In short you’ll drive projects forward. This is a role which will give you variety, challenge and plenty of scope for learning.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Best means balanced - innovation vs traditional; cost vs risk; what to build now vs what to build later. You’ll undertake financial management of projects and manage risks. Contractual management will be a key part of your role and you’ll be confident enough to liaise with project stakeholders and create influence at mid and senior leadership levels.
To do this role at your best holding APM or Prince 2 Foundation would be great however it’s not essential. If you have some exposure to the NEC form of contract that would be an asset. The solutions you’ll offer will change as we look forward to the future, adapting to business and environmental needs initially you’ll focus on less complex and low risk projects and you’ll be supported in every way of your journey to grow and to do more.
You will be a dynamic and collaborative individual with excellent communication and influencing skills. You will have a strong ability to build successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds, and hold a relentless drive for continuous improvement, with the ability to innovate and anticipate unexpected issues and challenges as they arise.
Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity and a caring attitude in equal weight. We want people who show up and roll their sleeves up. Restless spirits who are ready to be part of something bigger, who care, who really care... because when you really care, you’ll go above and beyond. When you really care you don’t just talk about it, you do more.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do.
And when it comes to inclusion, we’re making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups – LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity; who help us do just that.
We do more, because we care.
