Career Opportunity: Section Engineer

We are currently looking for a Section Engineer to work on large infrastructure schemes in East Anglia, initially working on road projects in Harwich and Leiston.
Main Duties for a Section Engineer:
1. Liaise with site management to complete quality take offs.
2. Develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities/issues with the project.
3. Develop knowledge and ability in completing hazard/risk assessments and method statements, including alerting relevant personnel to control measures and work methods therein.
4. Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification.
5. Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers.
6. Manage sectional setting out requirements on site.
7. Manage the sectional service plans/drawings. Issue permits accordingly.
8. Assist the QS/Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes.
9. Manage the as-built requirements of your section and contribute to the completion of the site health and safety file.
10. Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.
Are you the person we are looking for?
The ideal candidate for this Section Engineer role must have good and extensive setting out experience working on infrastructure projects including highways, roads and earthworks. Must be capable of working with Leica/Geomax equipment and transferring information from AutoCAD to the surveying equipment. Good understanding of ITPs and quality assurance process. Should have good leadership skills and understanding of construction practices.
Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our Eastern Region. A First Aid at Work qualification would also be desirable.
