The BOA Group is a Multi-Academy Trust of specialist academies located in Birmingham city centre, in the hub of the creative and digital industries. Though based in Birmingham, the academies recruit from across the wider Midlands region.
The BOA Group is a distinctive Multi-Academy Trust, which has grown from our first school, Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA). We now have 3 purpose-built academies as well as a fully operational Edwardian theatre (The Old Rep, Birmingham) within the portfolio.
BOA Digital Technologies welcomed its first Year 7 students in September 2022. The next cohort of year 7s started in September 2023 and we will have three full year groups, years 7, 8 and 9 by September 2024. Our vision is to offer a truly unique and distinctive education and provide a new model of teaching underpinned by digital skills and learning. Located in the heart of Birmingham’s growing technology and digital hub, close to industrial and academic partners, and with first-class facilities, BOA Digital is looking to meet the UK’s growing need for a high-class digital workforce.
We are seeking to appoint an TA to support the development and education of our children, by using their best endeavours and specialist knowledge to provide care and supervision to young people, including those who fall within the four broad areas of need as described in the SEN Code of Practice September 2014.
We are looking for someone who:
* Understands of challenges facing young people which may prevent them from learning.
* Understands the types of SEN encountered in school and methods of providing support.
* Understands of relevant codes of practice and legislation
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction and control of the SENCO and HTLA
* Supervise and support the teaching activities and undertake appropriate planning and preparation of sessions and courses for individuals or groups of young people to ensure their safety and facilitate in their educational and personal development.
* Use appropriate skills to undertake those activities necessary to meet the four broad areas of need for individuals and groups of young people.
* Monitor individual pupil's progress, achievements, problems, condition, and development needs reporting to the responsible teacher and/or parent as appropriate.
* Use appropriate skills when actively engaged in educational activities and work programs to support the progress of pupils in the four broad areas of need.
* To support plans in partnership with the SENCO to deliver experiences to individuals and groups as required, using The Assess Plan Do Review model.
* To report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils at timely intervals in line with the school calendar.
