Job Description
Fortis are working with an engineering client in the Barton-On-Sea area to recruit an electrical engineer to join their team. You will be part of the installation and service team, and as such, there will be some level of travelling.
The client creates bespoke special purpose machinery. The machines vary in size depending on the requirements of their clients, and this role is predominantly electrical.
You will need to be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to deliver the clients' requirements. This is a manual position where you will be required to move components and be active around the workshop, so a degree of physical fitness is required.
You will need to work away from the workshop about 3 days per month to UK-based clients. There may also be a few overseas trips per year which typically won't be more than a week. Working away brings some financial rewards, adding in the region of £3,000 - £5,000 per year.
The hours are 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday with a 13:00 finish on a Friday, totaling 39 hours. There is the potential for overtime during the week and Saturday mornings. The electrical engineer position pays up to £15 per hour depending on experience, plus overtime and bonuses for work away.
