Taylor Hopkinson is working with a leading offshore wind developer to recruit an Electrical Engineer who will support the Electrical Package Manager in the delivery of all aspects of electrical engineering including power systems studies, protection and control, grid connection and plant. This role will suit somebody from a power systems or electrical engineering background who has project experience related to offshore wind. Role: Manage and review work scopes and specifications related to power systems studies for offshore windfarms grid connection. Lead design reviews and support engineering risk management, budgeting and decisions related to power systems. Support the tender requirements for electrical equipment. Advise and implement relevant UK Grid Code to projects and engage with regulative bodies to harness stakeholder engagement. Review and translate complex electrical designs and power systems modelling throughout the engineering team. Work with electrical cable, plant and wind farm engineers as well as electrical protection and control system engineers during design stages. Manage specification writing and consultancy work scopes with associated delivery review for power system study requirements for the offshore windfarm to grid connection. Requirements: Degree or relevant equivalent in Electrical Engineering or similar subject. High level of knowledge and experience in power systems engineering and modelling with confidence in relevant software such as PSCAD, Power Factory and PSSE. Understanding of the UK Grid code, regulatory frameworks and policies with confidence to interact with relevant government bodies and DNO. Track record in project CDM relevant to electrical engineering and project experience within offshore wind. Have a structured approach to systems design maintaining logic and detail to all work.
