Location: This role requires you to be on-site in Capenhurst near Chester (CH1 6ES) for approx. 2-3 days per week.
About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in C/C++ (C++ 11/14/17) to join our rapidly growing business.
1. Design and develop embedded software solutions for innovative measurement devices for the power industry.
2. Bring up firmware on new hardware platforms designed in-house.
3. Implement software modules to facilitate communication with cloud services from embedded devices.
4. Ensure high-quality software delivery by writing robust, maintainable, and reliable code that adheres to industry standards.
5. Drive continuous improvements in process efficiency and product quality as deployment scales increase.
What We'll Need from You:
1. Expertise in C/C++ (C++ 11/14/17).
2. Proven experience in embedded software design and full product lifecycle development.
3. Strong knowledge of low-level protocols (SPI, I2C, RS232) and experience interfacing with ARM Cortex microprocessors.
4. Experience with unit testing frameworks and working with source control systems (Git).
5. Familiarity with Linux as both a target platform and development environment.
6. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment, with a focus on agile methodologies.
7. Experience with Continuous Integration tools is beneficial.
8. Awareness of the electricity industry is beneficial.
What We Can Offer You:
1. Up to £52,000 basic salary p.a. with some flexibility DOE.
2. 25 days holiday + stats + 1 day extra after every 3 completed years, to a max of 30.
