Job responsibilities
We are looking for an outstanding Cook who's passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
You'll be working 30 hours a week at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.
Cygnet Hospital Sheffield offers a low secure service for women and CAMHS services for male and female adolescents over three distinct wards.
Within the adult service, women are supported by a full multi-disciplinary team who are focused on helping service users regain independence, maintain family links and prepare for discharge. There is a focus on community access, therapy and meaningful activity and offering a warm and welcoming environment for the delivery of support and care.
In the separate and distinct CAMHS services at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, young people may be admitted to either our PICU or general CAMHS ward depending on their individual needs. All young people are supported by a full multi-disciplinary team alongside the therapy and education departments.

Your day-to-day...
1. Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals
2. Provide special diets, taking into account individual preferences & needs
3. Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients nutritional & dietary needs
4. Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
5. Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations
6. Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
7. Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

12. A skilled Cook who can work under pressure
13. Preferably experienced in the care sector
14. Able to plan nourishing & attractive menus within available budgets
15. The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
16. Polite & professional, with a positive attitude to internal & external quests at all times
17. An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
18. Able to work under your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision
19. [Qualified in catering to City & Guilds 706: 1 & 2 level or NVQ Level 2/3]
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
