The Role
We are looking for an experienced Manager to join our team in a combined role of Duty Manager & Bar Manager on a full-time basis. The role will involve being responsible for the F&B operation and providing additional shifts, events and holiday cover for the Duty Manager team. You will line manage and support a busy bar team providing a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks for visitors under the direction of the Events, Retail & Operations Manager. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, well-organized, fun, and committed to providing amazing customer service to our visitors. The cafe is small and busy particularly at peak times so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced bar environment. If you have an eye for detail and are passionate about maintaining high standards in a hospitality setting this might be the role for you! The park is open up to 7 days a week and has a wide range of opening hours. Weekend work, some evening work and work during school and bank holidays are expected as part of this role.
Responsibilities
DUTY MANAGER
* Overseeing day-to-day operations of the Amazement Park on a rotational basis each week.
* Ensuring the park is safe and operational at all times.
* Late shifts include cashing up the tills and securing the site at the end of the day.
* Early shifts include carrying out pre open checks and getting the staff and building open on time for our visitors.
* Troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise, reporting outcomes to the Events, Retail and Operations Manager as necessary.
* Maintain a positive presence and good working environment for our Front of House Crew.
* Manage and support the FOH crew throughout the shifts.
* Assist in recruitment and training of new staff.
* Uphold and enforce company policies & procedures.
* Treating employee complaints or performance issues confidentially and reporting to the Venue Operations Managers as necessary.
* Reporting of all incidents and accidents.
* Responding to incidents and emergencies in line with company procedures.
BAR MANAGER
* Providing line management, support and supervision to the bar team, being a role model for best practice, and an ambassador for our company values.
* Support the Retail, Events & Operations Manager in the hiring, training, motivating, and coaching of employees.
* Ensuring margins and spend per head targets are met.
* Managing the entire bar and food offering, ensuring efficient and high-quality service.
* Working bar shifts with the team, preparing and serving food and drinks during park opening hours.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy bar and cafe space at all times, including dishwashing, daily bar clean downs, line cleaning and regular deep cleans.
* Serving as a role model for all bar staff and acting as the first point of contact for the bar team for day-to-day queries.
* Managing stock levels (F&B), ordering, and keeping wastage as low as possible.
* Ensuring the bar is always well prepared and provisioned for our customers, particularly during weekends and busy periods, whilst ensuring wet waste is kept to an absolute minimum wherever possible.
* Keeping any relevant EHO, Food Safety, and Hygiene processes and documentation up to date under the direction of the Retail, Events & Operations Manager.
* Ensuring stock rotation and wastage recording is taking place.
* Assisting with the delivery of additional catering and service offerings for events and venue hires.
* Managing the reordering and stock control of pre-packaged sandwiches from one supplier.
Skills
* At least 1 year of management experience.
* At least 2 years of experience working in a bar/hospitality environment.
* Experience of bar management inc. line cleaning, stock ordering and rota management.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office & Google, and specifically Excel / Google Spreadsheets.
* Ability to pick up using new systems quickly.
* Energy, enthusiasm, and great customer service.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
* Experience of managing hospitality staff.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Fantastic communication skills.
* Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
* First aid trained.
* Experience of mixology/cocktails.
* Experience of cellar/stock management.
* Till software experience.
* Experience of working on events or venue hire bookings.
