Job summary The Edward Myers Unit (EMU) is currently a 12 bedded specialist inpatient service delivering drug and alcohol detoxification and treatment. It is part of North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust (NSCHT) Specialist Directorate and is one of only 4 NHS Trusts across the country who deliver medically managed inpatient substance misuse treatment within the NHS. We take referrals countrywide, and have an excellent reputation both locally and nationally providing evidence-based interventions and developing new treatment pathways for emerging trends in the substance misuse field. Due to planned service expansion, we are currently seeking experienced, highly motivated, dynamic Staff Nurses (full and part time) who have a passion for working within this specialist arena to help drive our services forward and develop a nurse led system of care. Nursing experience in the substance misuse field is preferable but motivation and enthusiasm is as important. You will be challenged both clinically and psychologically by a complex client group in this rewarding role. Substance Misuse pervades many aspects of mental health services, having an impact on a patient's physical and psychological wellbeing as well as their social and community networks.
