A Commercial Property team dealing with sales, purchases, leases and lending in the retail, leisure, F&B, housing & regeneration, office and industrial sectors. The Legal Assistant will support the team with general administration, developing their legal skills and knowledge over the 9-month fixed term.
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Legal Assistant for our Real Estate team in Sheffield. Our Legal Assistant Programme allows you to gain grass roots experience of working in a legal environment alongside our talented lawyers. Our firm is set up to ensure everyone’s voice is heard, and mutual respect is shown by all.
Legal Assistant positions are initially for 6 months. We review performance at 3 monthly intervals; at the 6 months mark we are assessing performance and attitude with a view to offering a second 6-month contract. At the 9-month stage we make a decision on whether to offer funding for the Solicitor Qualifying Examinations.

*Candidates who graduated with a law degree three years ago or more are required to undertake the Graduate Legal Essentials course. The 22 week course will be completed once you have joined us and have received a formal offer of training.

Your skills and qualifications
To have excellent academics and first-class organisation skills. To be able to build lasting relationships and have a flexible, can-do attitude to contribute and succeed with Freeths. To have excellent communication skills and be a real team player with a flexible and professional approach to work. Good IT skills, experience, and confidence with using Microsoft packages.
