Irrigation Operative - The Job Role Details: As an Irrigation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing key aspects of the irrigation process, ensuring optimal water and nutrient delivery for crop health and productivity. You will work closely with the Farm Manager and wider team to manage irrigation scheduling, system maintenance, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Irrigation Operative - Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure all irrigation operations comply with health and safety regulations.
* Oversee the watering and feeding schedules for crops.
* Set up and manage irrigation systems, including computer-run operations.
* Record and analyse data, including LEAF and soil analysis.
* Construct and dismantle irrigation systems as required.
* Coordinate and manage irrigation labour requirements.
* Plan and oversee irrigation workloads and schedules.
* Procure irrigation materials and ensure resource availability.
* Develop a strong understanding of irrigation cost structures, budgets, and financial targets.
You Will Have/be - Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in irrigation management within fresh produce or agriculture.
* Strong understanding of water management, irrigation systems, and plant nutrition.
* Knowledge of soil analysis, LEAF standards, and sustainable agricultural practices.
* Excellent leadership skills with experience in managing teams.
* Strong organisational and planning abilities.
* Understanding of budget management and cost efficiency in irrigation.
* A proactive and problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Flexibility with working hours to meet operational demands.
