Job Summary Digital Lead Midwife Band 8a This role is offered on a part time basis of 22.5 hours per week, this means that candidates interested in working part time are encouraged to apply and will receive a salary on a pro rata basis. We are seeking a dynamic Digital Lead Midwife to join the senior leadership team within the Perinatal Services at Great Western Hospitals. The Digital Lead Midwife role will be the clinical lead in the implementation of digital programmes and will engage clinical staff in capturing requirements for clinical digital solutions and the provision of professional advice to the implementation teams. The post holder will work closely with teams to promote the uptake of digital technology and lead the digital team in identifying, evaluating and coordinating developments with associated clinical digital systems and devices. This will include validating clinical content, engagement with service users, liaison with appropriate Trust Clinical Groups and Services and the planning the utilisation of the collected data to transform clinical safety and effectiveness within the Trust. Main duties of the job The Digital Lead Midwife role requires a strong clinical background and experience in teaching and training. The role will involve presentations and training sessions as well as providing clinical guidance to both the project team (in dealing with raised clinical issues) and to practitioners, supporting them to use digital technology in their clinical practice. This will include supporting the service user interfaces to ensure digital solutions are accessible to all. Person Specification Qualifications Qualifications Essential Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Degree in Midwifery Evidence of recent post registration continuous professional development/qualification Desirable Masters level study (or working towards) Experience Essential Significant experience in a senior midwifery/nursing position at Band 7 or above and currently working in a leadership role ? Experience of midwifery practice in hospital and community settings ? High degree of professional development ? Experience in writing reports/presenting information internally/externally in a timely manner to a range of Senior Managers ? Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team working with local and external terms, acting as an ambassador of a speciality ?
