Trinity Multi-Academy Trust is a forward thinking, vibrant and rapidly growing trust currently comprising of 11 academies, including secondary, primary and post-16. We are proud to have transformed the life chances of thousands of pupils across its existing academies, and our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility run through all aspects of academy life.
Each academy has its own governing body whose role is to support and challenge the school’s senior leadership. They play a pivotal role in ensuring we achieve our vision of making a positive difference to the lives of as many young people as possible.
Role Overview
As a Clerk to Governors you will provide support to governing body meetings by:
* Providing advice and guidance on governance, constitutional and procedural matters (full training and support will be provided through the Trust Governance Support Officer).
* Taking minutes that summarise succinctly and eloquently, the essence of the meeting and record all decisions accurately and objectively.
Location
You will undertake this role for two of our academies: Trinity Academy Leeds and Trinity Academy Cathedral; however, we will also accept applications from candidates who would prefer to support just one academy.
Hours of Work
Each governing body has 6 meetings per academic year and you will be allocated 6 hours per meeting (which includes travel time where required, attendance at the meeting, and the typing of minutes). If the successful candidate wishes to clerk for two academies, this will mean a minimum of 72 hours work each academic year. All governing body meetings are planned for the academic year, providing opportunity to plan for work. Meetings are held at the end of the school day / early evening so will suit someone who is not seeking a 9-5 role. Any additional hours that may be required throughout the year, such as attendance at training events or team meetings will be paid at the standard hourly rate.
Rate of Pay
£20 per hour (£120 per meeting)
