DEPARTMENT MANAGER STORE BASED ROLE IN ZARA KIDSWEAR IN ABERDEEN

General Manager
Key Responsibilities
STORE OPERATIONS
1. Manage HR Indicators (KPIs) performance, ensuring targets are exceeded throughout the store.
2. Support the general manager with the maintenance of store’s electronic devices.
3. Oversee the cleaning standards inside the store ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
4. Monitor uniforms’ allocation for Sales Assistants according to the company’s policy.
5. Monitor store’s stationary, post and travel costs in line with Company’s approved budgets.
6. Ensure replenishment is done timely and effectively in your department.
7. Organize the stockroom efficiently respecting company guidelines.
8. Monitor and set corrective actions for procedures including Security and Shrinkage, Cash desk management, Administration management, and Health and Safety.
9. Drive marketing initiatives and department’s sales performance based on analysis of commercial reports and product knowledge.
10. Manage the budget of hours in the department effectively.
11. Design the ideal rota to ensure correct coverage based on HR Business Partner's budget.
12. Conduct competitor research and provide relevant feedback.
13. Ensure department merchandising aligns with company standards and commercial guidelines.
HR PROCESSES
1. Monitor sales productivity to meet budget and take corrective actions when necessary.
2. Responsible for payroll processes and compliance with deadlines.
3. Ensure all ER processes are followed according to company policy.
4. React to recruitment needs ensuring a fair selection process.
5. Understand and reinforce company return policy.
6. Maintain clear communication with Head Office and management.
7. Promote HR Policies and Procedures and Code of Conduct in the store.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
1. Identify team members with development potential and build a succession plan.
2. Develop the team through performance reviews and personal development plans.
3. Ensure inductions and training are carried out for new starters and current employees.
4. Deliver constructive feedback to support employee development.
5. Receive feedback positively for personal development.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
1. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction in the store.
2. Motivate the team to offer a positive customer experience.
3. Support customer service with product knowledge and awareness.
4. Effectively resolve customer queries and manage conflicts.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
1. Maintain good housekeeping throughout all areas in the store.
2. Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
3. Act as an ambassador for the company’s sustainability project.
Experience and Qualifications
1. Knowledge of the Company, brand, and store.
2. Experience in managing a similar retail operation in a fast-paced environment.
3. Market, commercial, and competitor awareness.
4. Team management experience maximizing profitability and driving sales.
5. Basic knowledge of UK Employment Law.
