Within our community service we are recruiting for a skilled and loving Support Worker to join our team working across Muscliffe, Northbourne and Southbourne, on a full time basis. Previous care experience is not essential - maybe you have been inspired by looking after someone close to you or fancy a career changing into something that makes a real difference. Unfortunately, this is not a position that we can offer sponsorship for, under the skilled worker route. Due to the nature of our work we are appealing to anyone who has a strong background in health and social care along with experience of autism or complex care. You will need to have a Full UK driving licence, but access to your own vehicle is not essential to be considered for this position. The role: Our purpose in adult services is to empower the people we support to live as independently as possible and see them thrive. Each person we help has their own unique way of communicating, whether this be PECs boards, signalong or through repeating specific phrases. If you’ve not used signalong previously, don't worry as training is available No two days are the same, whether this would be taking a long walk in the forest, heading to a cafe for world's tallest hot chocolate, learning to cook new meals with HelloFresh or going for a cocktail and singing along to Karaoke. We have something that would suit everyone Aside from getting stuck in with activities, your day might also include helping individuals with shopping, accessing the community, providing personal care, and administering medication. At the heart of everything we do is promoting the independence of the people we support, and ensuring we have a relaxed, empathetic and encouraging team working with us to help ensure they achieve their goals. Hours of work: The shift pattern will be a range of shifts between 7am - 10pm, on a 2 week rolling rota, which will include working alternative weekends and completing sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment) A support workers day would include: Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication What is a Support Worker?
