About the Team / Role
WEX Europe is a leafing provider of Fuel cards. We manage a range of flexible fuel cards in several kay markets across Europe and due to ongoing growth, we are looking to recruit a Credit Analyst to join our Credit team.
The Credit Risk team are responsible for monitoring customers spend against their authorised Credit limits. Underwriting all applications across eight issuing countries in Europe, assessing and measuring the risk of extending Credit to all applicants. Proactive Portfolio Management ensuring continuous monitoring of the financial condition and performance of our customers.
Our portfolio covers a wide range of business types and sizes from small enterprises to large corporate businesses and institution’s.

How you’ll make an impact
11. To assess and measure the risk of extending credit to all applicants
12. Assess and evaluate the financial position and credit worthiness of all applications
13. Interpret / translate financial statements including balance sheets, P&L Statements and management accounts
14. Strive to accept all business, through accepting and controlling the higher risk customers- by means of reduced terms, securities etc.
15. Minimize the risk to the business with a strong focus on fraud screening
16. Working with multiple European portfolios
17. Assess, ambage and report exposure position to determine the level of risk
18. Overtrade management where the customer exposures can rapidly change
19. Assessing customers’ accounts using information gathered, and making an informed decision within credit parameters with commercially balanced recommendations
20. Analysis of customer’s financial statements and B2B Credit Reports
21. Maximizing volume opportunity and growth in line with Business goals
22. Customer contact and daily interaction with the in-country credit and sales teams
23. Building and maintaining strong relationships with all Credit Teams, Sales Teams and Customer Service Advisors
24. As a part of team, provide support/ cover for others roles within the Credit department when required
Experience you’ll bring
25. Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess financial information
26. Previous experience in Credit underwriting / analyst or a similar role
27. Experience of dealing with the main credit reference agencies
28. Strong administrative skills- capturing and recording data, data reconciliation
29. Advanced excel skills
30. Knowledge of underwriting in European Countries
31. Would be of an advantage to have previous exposure to the Fuel Card Market
32. European language skills would be advantageous but not essential
33. Strong communication skills
34. Strong decision-making skills
35. High attention to detail
36. Ability to interface with all levels of management and staff
37. Ability to prioritize and manage own workload
38. Extensive, professional communication skills both written and verbal
