Senior Enterprise Architect - Leeds, Basic salary in excess of £100k
Role Purpose
The main purpose of the Senior Enterprise Architect role is to:
1. Develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture for the global business unit.
2. Engage with Business representatives and establish and maintain the architectural building blocks that will support and enable business objectives: These elements include Reference Models, Artefact Repository, Patterns, Frameworks, Tools, Methodology, and Governance frameworks.
3. Provide consulting and recommendations to the global business unit through the formulation and simplification of technology strategy, solution option analysis, and cost/benefit analysis.
4. Participate in and provide governance on major programs and projects to ensure that solutions are in line with the broader Group-wide Enterprise Architecture and that expected business and IT benefits will be able to be realised.
5. Support internal teams in the development of their solutions and services.
You will have global responsibility for people/teams that sit in the architecture space ensuring a one way/same way of working.
Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
Strategic Focus
1. Provide strategic I.T architecture vision, strategy, and technology leadership for large programs and business transformation initiatives for the business.
2. With large sized programs and the interdependencies between the projects and programs, provide integrated vision, roadmap, and steer to build standard solutions and technology change plans considering overarching scope and dependencies.
Operational Management
1. Establish and maintain Architecture artefacts for the global business unit.
2. Review new and existing I.T projects to ensure compliance and integration with the Group-wide Enterprise Architecture.
3. Provide advanced technical consulting in multi-platform application environments.
4. Perform advanced assignments as required, particularly in areas of difficulty, complexity, or critical need.
5. Identify and investigate opportunities to utilise and integrate emerging technologies to provide cost-effective, flexible solutions.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of business plans and possible impacts to the business unit architecture. Engage regularly with business stakeholders to ensure alignment.
7. Develop and maintain an Architecture aligned to the I.T Strategy. Determine the roadmap required to support the implementation of the Architecture.
8. Govern across and ensure that the scope and design of strategic projects are aligned with the target Architecture. Ensure that tactical initiatives risks and deviation from strategic plans are understood and communicated.
9. Participate in and facilitate functional and technical designs of systems to ensure sound decisions are being made in alignment with current and future business and I.T strategies and opportunities.
10. Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical architectures to meet requirements and strategies.
People Leadership
1. Supervise & mentor other architects into Group standards and best practices in the domain of I.T architecture and strategy.
2. Stakeholder management and leadership to drive global business and technology change.
3. Key Member of the global technology leadership team and point of contact for Exec and Senior Stakeholder communication(s).
Governance & Risk
1. Keep aware of compliance requirements (regulatory, governance, audit), and the development and implementation of supporting standards.
2. Adhere to all Group standards, policies, and procedures.

Experience & Personal Attributes
1. Circa 15+ years of I.T experience, 10+ years in solution design, and 5+ years in senior architect roles.
2. Exposure to both Infrastructure and Application estate.
3. Highly professional and self-motivated individual with the ability and desire to work with experienced I.T professionals in all disciplines in a dynamic, evolving environment.
4. Personal qualities: innovative, resourceful, collaborative, energetic, and self-confident.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to document and present models, strategies, standards, and concepts to both business and I.T audiences.
6. Demonstrated ability to learn business processes and operations and apply technical solutions.
7. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team.
9. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
10. 5+ years of solid experience implementing medium to large-scale distributed applications and application ecosystems.
11. Experience in various integration concepts, patterns, and technologies.
12. Strong communication, consulting, and negotiation skills.
13. Solid working knowledge across infrastructure domains (network, compute, and storage).
14. Effective research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
15. Strong negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills.
16. Strong skills in Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
