Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Release Manager to oversee the release management process for our Pensions Administration Software. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring seamless, on-time delivery of software releases and managing the complexities of deployment, testing, and post-release support. You will work closely with development, Test Manager, operations team to deliver high-quality solutions while managing risks and ensuring compliance with the BPA requirements.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases within the pensions administration system, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
* Collaborate with development, Test Manager, and operations team to set realistic timelines, track progress, and address any blockers.
* Oversee the end-to-end deployment process for all software releases, ensuring proper integration into production environment.
* Manage version control and the release pipeline, making sure that updates to the pensions administration software are successfully deployed and meet performance standards.
* Ensure that all releases are well-documented, including release notes, known issues, and instructions for deployment.
* Maintain a detailed record of release histories, change logs, and version control.
* Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases, including potential integration issues or deployment delays.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues post-release, working with relevant teams to ensure that any post-deployment issues are swiftly addressed.
* Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders during release cycles, providing regular updates on release status, any potential risks, and resolutions.
* Facilitate clear communication across development, Test Manager, and operational team to ensure smooth collaboration.
* Regularly review and improve the release management process to optimize efficiency, reduce risk, and improve delivery timelines.
* Monitor and assess the success of software releases, gathering feedback to improve future release cycles.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
Essential
* Proven experience as a Release Manager or in a similar role within a software development environment, preferably with a focus on pensions administration software or similar financial services applications.
* Strong understanding of software development life cycles, release management processes, and IT operations.
* Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
* Knowledge of pensions administration software or financial services platforms is highly desirable.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards in pensions and financial services (e.g., GDPR, TPR guidelines).
* Strong organizational skills and experience in coordinating multiple software releases simultaneously.
* Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and resources effectively.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
* Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Desirable
* Agile/Scrum certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner).
