Job summary
A vacancy has arisen for a Trust Doctor (ST1 equivalent) in Paediatrics and Neonates based at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust at St Richards Hospital for Until August 2024 to cover a deanery vacancy.
The successful candidate will join the paediatric department at St Richard's Hospital.

Main duties of the job
1. Care of General Paediatric and Neonatal patients under consultant supervision
2. Attendance at Paediatric and Neonatal emergencies as required
3. Care of Paediatric Outpatients under consultant supervision
4. Care of Child Assessment Unit and rapid referral patients
5. Support and teaching of junior medical, nursing staff and medical students
6. To engage in Continuing Professional Development and Audit as appropriate
7. To engage with the Trusts appraisal and revalidation process
So far as is consistent with the proper discharge of duties the post holder undertakes to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues.
The post holder undertakes, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
The post holder undertakes, exceptionally, to be available for such irregular commitments outside normal rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care.
Purchasing Authorities are setting Clinical Quality Standards as part of their contracts. All clinical staff are expected to aim to work to these standards and to any additional standards requested by the Trust Board.
