An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Administrator to join an established Heart Failure service. Based temporarily at Havant Health Centre, the service covers Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Waterlooville, Hayling, Petersfield, and Bordon areas. Experience of the trust IT systems would be desirable but not essential as training will be given.
Due to the high volume of work, you will need to have a degree of resilience and be able to work well under pressure, though full support is given through peer support and regular formal supervision. You will be supporting the Heart Failure Nurses with booking appointments, taking phone calls for health professionals and patients, and other clerical responsibilities.

Main duties of the job
1. Under the supervision of the daily lead clinician for Heart Failure, receive and process referrals following service criteria.
2. Provide administrative, audio typing where needed, and secretarial support for the Heart Failure Service.
3. Liaise with General Practitioners and other Health Care agencies, service users, and relatives regarding referrals, visits, follow-up appointments, and acute hospitals.
4. Receive, process, and follow up referrals received from external stakeholders via email, letter, and telephone as indicated in the Standing Operating Procedure.
5. Assist in the provision of administrative/secretarial support to the clinical triage staff, according to the needs of the service users.
6. Access PHU IT systems to gather information needed for specialist nurse to triage referrals and treat patients.
7. Provide comprehensive administrative & secretarial support to the Heart Failure Specialist Lead and the service.
8. Oversee the seamless running of the administration of the service and line manage Volunteers.
9. Maintain patients' records, staff diaries (including the management of the eRoster), and distribute relevant information.
10. Use initiative, working autonomously in referring issues to other relevant parties as appropriate, ensuring confidentiality and security of information is maintained at all times.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE or O level or equivalent including Maths and English grade C or above
* IT experience in the use of computer software packages (Microsoft Office)
* RSA III or equivalent
