The Role:
Teaching Fellow – Data Science
Background:
We are significantly investing in the AI world of today and tomorrow. This investment brings a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Fellow to join us at the Centre of Excellence on a fixed term, 1 year basis. The ideal candidate will build our research and knowledge exchange strengths within DAIM, enhance academic support, and provide teaching for our students. You’ll be educating the next generation of data scientists and artificial intelligence practitioners, responding to the increasing need in this field, and conducting high quality research that cuts across traditional disciplinary departmental and faculty boundaries.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The ideal candidates will have excellent communication and personal supervision skills and be able to engage, motivate, and support students. They will be expected to make significant contributions to supporting the academic progress of students, support teaching, and deliver a positive impact on the student experience. Preference will be given to candidates who can provide teaching support across several subject areas relevant to DAIM and who complement and enhance the overall disciplinary balance within DAIM.
Required:
Ideally, you will hold a good degree and a PhD or equivalent (or have submitted your PhD prior to commencement), with experience in teaching and research. We also recognize the value that significant and relevant work experience can bring to an individual’s skillset, particularly if you have experience in at least one aspect of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Python programming.
