Job Overview
Full Time Band 6 Occupational Therapist (would consider a band 5-6 development Role). An exciting opportunity has become available for a band 6 Occupational Therapist in the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS). This role is advertised as a band 6; however, may consider a band 5 development role to band 6 for a suitable candidate. This would be supported by the leadership team within the first 12 months of employment.
This is a permanent role and we encourage staff who are also looking for a job share/flexible working or part-time hours. We are a family-based service working across Sussex County with children, young people, and their families to treat Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa. This role will be based at Aldrington Centre, Hove alongside involving some travel across the Sussex area.
Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
To provide occupational therapy interventions for referred clients using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. To promote and develop the role of Occupational Therapy within the home intervention team in SFEDS. To act as Lead Practitioner and be part of the MDT in providing meal supervision and support with families including risk assessment planning and collaborative care plans. To manage a caseload of clients. To provide specialist clinical advice and input for clients with complex problems and needs.
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in occupational therapy
* Registration with the HCPC as an occupational therapist
* Evidence of post graduate level study/training
Knowledge and experience
* Experience as a qualified occupational therapist in mental health and eating disorders
* Broad experience of working with clients with a range of mental health problems
* Experience of multidisciplinary working
Skills
* Able to communicate complex condition related information to service users, carers and colleagues
* Work with others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practices including policies and strategies
* Ability to use Trust IT systems including e-mail and electronic clinical records (standard keyboard skills)
Approach and Values
* Demonstrate support for the values and beliefs of the Care Group and those of the Trust
* Ability to travel across sites
