Job Description
Our Client are a privately owned national contractor operating in a wide range of sectors including commercial, retail, residential, leisure and healthcare. The South West Division have already secured their budgeted pipeline for the next two years and are thus looking for a number of experienced professionals to join their rapidly expanding team.
Options Resourcing have been retained to assist with the recruitment of a Quantity Surveyor to work on projects in the Bristol area.
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate experience of working on MOD projects and the ability to ensure value for money, adhere to project budgets, and proof of delivering projects to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
* Managing project costs from inception to completion.
* Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs.
* Monitoring project progress and ensuring cost control measures are in place.
* Analysing tenders and contracts for profitability and risk.
* Negotiating with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Preparing and submitting detailed progress reports.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory building regulations and contractual obligations.
* Resolving disputes and handling any financial claims.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or a similar industry.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, such as JCT or NEC.
* Proficient in using relevant software, e.g., CostX, MS Excel, or similar tools.
* Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
