Job Description:
About The Role
Are you a newly qualified Occupational Therapist or ready for a new challenge to progress your career? If you strive to make a positive impact on people’s lives, we would like to hear from you.
At Hesley Group we aim to offer the best possible person-centred care and vocational opportunities for young people and adults, often with autism, who have a learning disability and complex needs including behaviour which may challenge.
We are looking for energetic and passionate individuals to join our team as Band 5 Occupational Therapists. You will be a key part of the multi-disciplinary team within the service and you will also be part of our Therapeutic Services team, comprising of Behaviour Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists, all working alongside clinical assistants.
The MDT at Meadow View comprises mostly of newly qualified therapists that have progressed to Band 6 with us so the support for your first steps in your career is well tested and proven. Our Therapists make a key contribution to our capacity to provide effective person-centred positive behaviour support. Our inclusive way of working has the people we support as a true partner in their care.
We recognise that each and every member of staff has an important role to play in the care of our people. It is with their dedication, passion and hard work that we can deliver excellent care programmes that truly benefit the people we support.
In recognition of this, our CPD opportunities are second to none: you will have the opportunity to complete a Post grad qualification in Sensory Integration and other relevant training within the first few years with us.
This role will be challenging but rewarding, with the opportunity to have a real impact on improving the lives of people who use our services. As part of the OT role, you will use your warm and friendly interpersonal skills to develop good relationships with the people who live at Meadow View as a starting point to continuing on the OT pathway. Your core OT values and knowledge will enable individuals to learn new skills to increase independence and enhance quality of life.
You will provide a service to the individuals who live within the group and to ensure that each person’s occupational needs are met within a Positive Behavioural Support framework. You will work to support individuals within the service to develop skills to enable them to become more independent and able to live a lifestyle of their choosing.
About You
You will have an Occupational Therapy professional qualification, and a current professional registration with HCPC. Ideally, you will have knowledge of learning disability and/or autism and associated mental health difficulties but this is not essential. You will actively provide support and professional advice to other members of the team and all other stakeholders.
We are seeking a dynamic, resilient and motivated individual who can demonstrate a commitment to an evolving service and delivering effective and evidenced service initiatives.
