Eden Scott's client is seeking an experienced Compliance Specialist for a 12-month contract with a leading financial services firm based in Edinburgh. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with global teams and work on complex regulatory matters, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with portfolio managers, dealers, and other investment staff on regulatory issues such as:
2. Cross trades, error correction, fair allocation, best execution, short selling, and conflicts of interest.
3. Provide expert advice on Material Non-Public Information (MNPI) and apply the firm's information barrier policies effectively.
4. Partner with global counterparts in the US and APAC to ensure consistent application of best practices across regions.
5. Deliver regular compliance training to teams on topics including market abuse, information barriers, best execution, and conflicts of interest.
6. Prepare and present management information, reports, and presentations to senior management, company boards, and regulatory bodies.
7. Offer timely advice and support on compliance matters related to business projects and strategic initiatives.
8. Lead or participate in compliance projects and initiatives, particularly in interpreting and implementing new regulations.
Person Specification:
1. Proven experience in a compliance role within the financial services or asset management industry.
2. Strong knowledge of regulatory matters including cross trades, fair allocation, market abuse, and conflicts of interest.
3. Familiarity with Material Non-Public Information (MNPI) policies and information barrier frameworks.
4. Experience delivering compliance training and preparing high-quality reports for senior stakeholders.
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with global teams.
6. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
