The Constituent Data Manager is responsible for the management and use of the database containing the University’s alumni, donor, and prospective donor records. A software “power user,” the manager is the primary report writer and report resource, and the division’s service provider regarding data segmentation and data pulls. Responsible for the integrity of the database including security and access, data cleansing, data standards, and consistency in data entry. Responsible for publicly-reported facts and figures related to University Advancement efforts. Assist with recording gifts to the University.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in information technology field, Associate’s and four years, or combination of education and experience equal to six years.
* Broad knowledge of several areas of information technology and knowledge of specialty area as required by employing unit.
* Overall information technology skills as required by employing department/unit.
* Organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills.
* Supervisory ability.
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with Blackbaud Raisers Edge or other Customer Relationship Management software.
* Experience working in a non-profit and/or higher education environment.
* Advanced knowledge of data formats such as Excel and CSV.
* Ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets.
* Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
* Basic accounting and/or financial systems knowledge.
* Be a proactive problem solver and take initiative.
* Strong analytical skills to identify data discrepancies and ensure data integrity.

Duties / Responsibilities
* Oversee all aspects of the constituent database and ensure the integrity of its data.
* Facilitate routine integration/input of data from multiple software platforms and sources in a timely manner.
* Build complex ad-hoc queries, facilitate data imports/exports (e.g., bulk data loads), and generate segmented reports in support of the University’s fundraising priorities.
* Schedule and perform routine data maintenance, data cleansing, and coordinate data audits.
* Analyze data and create strategies to increase the quality and quantity of data captured in the database.
* Create and maintain documentation on database functionality and USNH, CASE, and IRS data standards/practices. Enforce data standards.
* Manage database security and user access contingent on business need.
* Train and advise users on the functionality of the database and other technology services utilized by University Advancement.
* Develop standard queries, exports, reports, etc. for use by University Advancement staff.
* Grant access to contracted demographic data services (e.g., Alumni Finder, Obituary Data).
* Assist with recording gifts to the university.
* Hire, train, and supervise student employees.
