Randstad Tuition Services are seeking tutors in Cambridge to deliver 1:1 tuition to primary and secondary aged young people. The role is ideal for experienced educators looking for a position that presents new opportunities and the chance to make a difference in a young person's life.
Location: Cambridge, either in the young person's home or community venue.
Position: English, Maths and Science Tutor
Start date: ASAP
Full-time/part-time: The chance to work as much or as little as you like (up to 40 hours a week)
Rate of pay: GBP25+ per hour
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
2. Provide support for students to improve their confidence and academic performance.
3. Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials according to curriculum requirements.
4. Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to students and parents where necessary.
What we're looking for in a Tutor:
1. Experience working with students with SEMH and/or SEN needs, particularly those who may be disengaged or not attending mainstream education.
2. Strong knowledge and experience in delivering core subjects (Maths, English, or Science) at the secondary school level.
3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students and adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles.
4. Ability to plan, deliver, and assess academic sessions that are tailored to the student's level and needs.
5. Is up to date with KCSIE policy and guidance.
Requirements:
1. Must be available for face-to-face tutoring across Cambridge (online sessions may be required on occasion).
2. A valid DBS check registered on the Update Service.
3. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and/or a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) are highly desirable.
4. Strong subject knowledge and experience tutoring KS1-KS4 students.
5. Excellent communication skills and a passion for education.
