Reporting directly to the Hardware Manager you will be working on advanced high grade crypto systems and key management systems to protect Governments, Military, Enterprise Organizations and essential National Infrastructure from cyber threats. As an apprentice you will be trained in high grade cryptographic development and you will learn about our existing Ectocryp and CertSecure suite of products. You will join a team of highly skilled team of engineers working to deliver the next generation of encryption devices. You will receive on the job training and a formal degree qualification all while being paid and accruing no course fees., You will learn how to specify, perform, build, test, and document mechanical design for system architecture. Skills you will be taught will include:
* Mechanical concepts;
* 3D Design using Solidworks;
* Thermal Simulation;
* 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping;
* CNC machining methods;
* Test and Assembly Jig design;
* Construction of complex low volume communication products;
* Documentation of design.
In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:
* 96 UCAS points made up of 3 A Levels at grades CCC or above which must include Mathematics and one other Science subject
OR
* 2 A levels at grades CC or above which must include Mathematics and one other Science subject AND Pass the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate Diploma with Grade C/D in the Skills Challenge Certificate
OR
* BTEC Extended Diploma at grade DDM in a relevant Maths, Science or Engineering subject which must include Maths modules
OR
* Access to HE: Pass an Access to HE Diploma in Maths/Science AND obtain a minimum of 96 UCAS tariff points
OR
* Pass the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 29 overall including a score of 5 in Mathematics at Higher Level. You will also need to obtain a score of 5 or above in English at standard level, Qualifications:Diploma
