We have a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join the team at HMP Huntercombe, a Category C prison, exclusively for Foreign National males. We have capacity of around 500, and offer healthcare 7 days per week.

Job Summary
Hours: This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts can be flexible, and we will discuss with you directly. Shift patterns are typically 07:45 - 17:00 Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30 on weekends.
Salary: This position is full-time, you will receive an annual salary of £24,669 - £28,690 per annum, depending on experience.

Main Duties of the Job
As our new Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
* Issue medication to patients directly from the hatch on the wing, checking ID and ensuring the correct medication is given
* Ensure medication compliance, checking medication held by patients in their cells
* Work alongside the wider healthcare team, liaising with colleagues (including GPs) to ensure patients receive the correct medication
* Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
* Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies and procedures

* An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing
* Experience within a pharmacy environment - whether in the community, hospital or a prison / secure setting
