My client is seeking a Conveyancing Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join their team in New Malden, London. As a Legal Assistant/Paralegal in otheir Residential Conveyancing department, you will play a pivotal role in supporting fee earners with the smooth running of conveyancing transactions. Key Responsibilities: • Assisting fee earners with managing a caseload of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction to post-completion, including (but not limited to): sales and purchases, leasehold and freehold, transfer of equity, re-mortgaging, lease extensions, deeds of variation, probate sales, and equity release. • Preparing and drafting legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and other property-related paperwork. • Conducting Land Registry searches and managing registration processes. • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other parties involved in the conveyancing process. • Opening and closing client files in line with compliance procedures. • Managing administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining accurate client records. • Supporting the preparation of completion statements and ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately. • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Skills and Experience: • Previous experience in a residential conveyancing role (Legal Assistant or Paralegal). • Knowledge of the conveyancing process and associated legal documentation. • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
