The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust strives to innovate and improve care to patients. The Trust has recently approved the business case for a new pharmacy aseptic, clinical trials and radiopharmacy facility, expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
The prime function of the unit is the preparation of cytotoxic, monoclonal antibodies and clinical trials in a safe and efficient manner according to Good Manufacturing Practice and National Standards.

Main duties of the job
1. Provide Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Services to Aseptic Unit, in accordance with current licensing regulations and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and where appropriate, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements.
2. Be based within the Quality Assurance team of the pharmacy department.
3. Support the operational needs of the department, acting in the supervisor's absence in certain matters relating to QA.
4. Support Quality Assurance Lead and Higher-Level Pharmacy Technician, acting in their absence in certain matters relating to QA.
5. Undertake further education and training to advance the role of quality assurance within the department.
6. Support the work of the pharmacy aseptic unit in the provision of an extended hours service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science/ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent experience to NVQ 3/ Science Manufacturing Technician / Clinical Pharmaceutical Scientist.
* Registered with GPHC or Science Council.
* Evidence of further formal training, e.g. Aseptic Dispensing and Preparation of Medicines, Leeds University, relevant NVQ3 units or a willingness to undertake these.
* Demonstrated competence in Aseptic dispensing of medicines, quality assurance, and documented training in all aspects of GMP.
Experience
* Quality Assurance experience.
* Aseptic experience.
* Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Data Reporting.
