Description
Job Title: Machine Maintenance Supervisor
Department: Electronic Production
Schedule: Monday – Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
Facility location: Chester, CT
Summary: Responsible for the timely and proactive maintenance of all production machines and Machine Maintenance team members.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Leads Machine Maintenance Team and initiatives leveraging their expertise.
* Oversees, coaches, and develops Machine Maintenance staff on all shifts, coming in on off-shifts as required.
* Prepares, monitors, and may be responsible for budget, staffing, and/or business/operational results of a functional team or project.
* Directly manages machine maintenance employees and collaborates with fellow supervisors, engineers, or group leaders.
* Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
* Manages any emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and the performance of scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
* Establishes and drives a Preventative Maintenance Schedule for all machines.
* Implements maintenance protocols to limit machine downtime or impacts to production.
* Performs troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
* Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and makes adjustments.
* Oversees simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
* Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
* Detects faulty operations, defective material, and reports those and any unusual situations to management.
* Trains employees on safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
* Tracks and maintains electronic records on all maintenance and repairs to machines.
* Controls maintenance budget and spending.
* Sets working hours for department and obtains approval through Manager.
* Directs and delegates workload to maintenance personnel.
* Ensures all processes, procedures, and documentation are ISO compliant.
Scope
* Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of the machine maintenance team.
* Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion, coordinates work activities with other supervisors and engineers as appropriate.
* Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager.
Education and Experience
* High school diploma or GED.
* Three years’ relevant experience preferred.
* Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print.
* Intermediate level in MS Office applications (Word and Excel).
* Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results.
* Ability to work in a high volume, high detail work environment.
* Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions.
* Ability to manipulate and work with tedious and small parts.
* Strong decision-making skills; utilizing sound judgement and thorough processes.
Physical Demands & Abilities
* Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
* Regularly performs repetitive tasks.
* Able to stand for entire shift.
* Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
* Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and third parties. This ability to communicate requires the employee to be conversant in English as the majority of our workforce and the third parties that we encounter only speak English.
