The Development Director is accountable for achieving the fundraising goals ofCASA Youth Advocates through leadership and execution of a strategic development plan, includingannual giving, donor relations, special events, corporate partnerships and grants management. TheDevelopment Director works collaboratively with the marketing team to create awareness and supportfor CASA. Development Director co-chairs organization’s Development Committee with a Board member.The Development Director leads a team that includes the Development and Communications Manager anda contracted grant writer.

Design and implement a comprehensive annual development funding plan, which supports the budgetingneeds of CASA Youth Advocates and provides future financial resources for growth and expansion.Plan includes: individual giving (including multi-year and monthly giving commitments), major donorgiving, grant writing and management, corporate giving, annual appeal, fundraising events, anddigital fundraising campaigns.
Utilize designated CRM to collect, organize, and maintain a complete and accurate database recordof donors and funding received. Create funding target for donor groups, including individuals,corporations, grants, major donors and Board of Directors. Develop and meet donor metrics; providemonthly reports of results against budget. Oversee and ensure compliance with gift accepting, giftcounting, and gift processing policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with donors to ensure retention and expansion of donorcommitments. Develop strategies for new donor acquisition and cultivation of new prospects. Supportthe stewardship of major donors, planned giving (including growing CASA’s endowment), and majorcorporate sponsors. Plans and executes strategies for donor recognition and engagement, includingannual celebration events, personal acknowledgement and cultivation activities, personalizedinvitations to special events, etc.
Develop strong relationships within the community to foster a positive impact such that companies,schools, civic organizations, and individuals consider CASA Youth Advocates as a local nonprofit of choice for funding.
Provide leadership to the marketing team to ensure positive impact and consistency of CASA’smessaging. Review call to action in all printed and digital marketing campaign materials to ensureeffective support of funding goals. Lead and manage major fundraising events, including the CASA Gala and Superhero 5K. Develop andimplement program management plans and timelines, sets monetary and attendance goals. Develop andimplement sponsorship programs for special events and contracts and manages all vendors. Identifyopportunities for additional fundraising and friendraising events, in-kind donation drives, andprovides support for individual fundraiser events organized by Board members or other CASAsupporters.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in nonprofit developmentand/or nonprofit administration with demonstrated success in individual giving and special eventsfundraising and management.
Relationship Building and Public Relations: Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate and maintainrelationships with donors, supporters, board members, volunteers, and other stakeholders. Abilityto lead marketing team, increasing community awareness through marketing campaigns and materials.
Strategic Planning and Project Management: Ability to develop fundraising plans aligned with theorganization’s goals, mission, and financial needs. Skills to plan, set objectives, and executeaction for donor campaigns and special events. Ability to track effectiveness of developmentactivities and providing reporting to Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey theorganization’s mission, impact, and funding needs to diverse audiences.
Leadership Abilities: Capacity to lead, motivate a team of fundraising professionals, volunteers,and staff members towards achieving fundraising goals.
Innovative Thinking: Creativity and innovation to explore new fundraising opportunities, campaigns,and approaches to engage donors and expand revenue streams.
Data Analysis: Familiarity with fundraising software, CRM systems, and digital platforms tostreamline fundraising operations, track donor interactions, and enhance donor engagement.Proficiency in utilizing data analytics and fundraising metrics to assess performance, identifytrends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize fundraising strategies.
Grant Writing and Management: Experience in researching grant opportunities, reviewing compellinggrant proposals, and effectively managing grant relationships and reporting requirements.
Collaboration Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments with theorganizations, including program staff, coalition leaders, marketing, outreach, and finance, aswell as Board of Directors, to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities.
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & BACKGROUND:
Successful completion of FBI fingerprint clearance, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History clearance, andPennsylvania State Police background check is a condition of employment.

Salary range: TBD commensurate with experience and high-quality benefits package, includinggenerous PTO package, health care and dental with 90% employer premium coverage, 403b with employermatch after one year of employment, life and short-/long-term disability coverage.
