To ensure the continuous availability of a safe and secure Nuclear Deterrent, the Safety Assurance team provides independent safety advice, ensuring robust processes and practices are undertaken. The Directorate of Safety Assurance (DSA) is responsible to the Authorisee for providing assurance of compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements for Nuclear and Weapons Ordnance Munitions & Explosives (WOME) Authorised Activities undertaken at Clyde. The Ordnance Assurance Inspector delivers this by leading and undertaking a programme of combined Authorisation Condition (AC) and Warships in Harbour inspections, ensuring that relevant good practice described within ONR/DNSR Technical Assessment Guides (TAGs) and Technical Inspection Guides (TIGs) are considered.
