Telecoms Enterprise GIS Architect – 6-Month Contract (Inside IR35) with immediate start
Are you a skilled GIS Architect with a strong background in telecommunications and fibre networks?
Do you have expertise in enterprise GIS solutions and system integration? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the GIS strategy of a leading telecoms organisation.
The Role:
As the Enterprise GIS Architect, you will report to the Head of Enterprise Architecture and be responsible for defining and maintaining the GIS architecture vision and strategy. You will ensure alignment with business objectives, IT policies, and best practices, while providing technical leadership across the GIS domain.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and maintain the current and future state GIS architecture, creating roadmaps to guide investment and project priorities.
* Establish IT principles, governance models, and data policies in collaboration with key stakeholders.
* Lead architectural reviews, ensuring projects adhere to enterprise policies and standards.
* Work closely with the Head of Enterprise Architecture to develop a clear GIS strategy and roadmap.
* Support programme and project lifecycles, including scope definition, roadmap development, and impact analysis.
* Oversee the delivery of technical solutions, ensuring the right design, cost, and timeframe.
* Ensure third-party GIS solutions comply with enterprise architecture principles and company standards.
Skills & Experience Required
* Extensive experience in telecommunications, particularly in fibre networks.
* Strong expertise in enterprise GIS solutions and system integration projects.
* Knowledge of Physical Network Inventory (PNI), Smallworld GIS, SWAF, and VMDS.
* Familiarity with enterprise architecture best practices (TOGAF, ITIL, BPMN, UML, TM Forum).
* Strong data modelling skills, including relational, taxonomical, and ontological approaches.
* Experience reverse-engineering legacy systems and software.
